Summary

Life's unexpected challenges can transform personal crises into crises of faith, making us question God's love and our worthiness of His help. David's story in 2 Samuel 15 and Psalm 3 shows us how to find confidence during our darkest hours. When his own son Absalom betrayed him and forced him into exile, David faced both political defeat and personal devastation. Yet in Psalm 3, David demonstrates remarkable confidence, declaring God as his shield and the lifter of his head. His secret was understanding that confidence in crisis comes not from perfect behavior or favorable circumstances, but from our covenant relationship with God. Through Jesus, we can approach God's throne with boldness, knowing that faithfulness doesn't require flawlessness.
