Summary

Life inevitably brings disappointments that can make us feel abandoned by God. Psalm 22 begins with the familiar cry, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" - words that Jesus Himself spoke on the cross. This ancient psalm doesn't end in despair but declares that God has not hidden His face from the afflicted and hears when they cry to Him. Jesus experienced the ultimate abandonment so that we would never truly be alone. The empty tomb proves that God's faithfulness to Jesus extends to all who trust in Him, reminding us that our feelings of abandonment don't reflect spiritual reality.
