Mark 6:45-56
Jesus has dismissed the crowd after feeding them and he has sent the disciples in a boat to cross the sea while he goes to pray. During the night, the disciples are stuck in a windstorm on the sea and Jesus comes to them, walking on water. Mark tells us that when Jesus got in the boat, the disciples were astonished, but he connects it to the feeding of the 5,000 and says they still didn't understand the lesson of the loaves. Then we find Jesus landing at the shore and healing many people. Jesus was trying to reach the disciples' hearts so they would see him for who he truly is and put their full and complete trust in him. And that's what he's trying to do for us, to reach into our hearts and lives so we truly believe in who he is.
