Questioning Christianity: Can't We Be Good without God?
Romans 2:12-16. The late atheist Christopher Hitchens was known for issuing a challenge to religious people to name one single act of goodness a Christian could perform that an unbeliever could not also perform. At first, it may seem like Hitchens proved God is not necessary for there to be goodness in the world, that he had issued a challenge that brought Christianity to its knees. There are arguments that have been given to explain morality and goodness without God. The truth is, as we will study, goodness doesn’t exist without God. Without God there is no objective moral standard. There is no right or wrong.
